Try this meditation exercise when you wake up in the morning. Before you open your eyes, stretch and arch your whole body like a cat. After a moment or two, start to laugh. Simply lift the corners of your mouth and laugh out loud, even if you cannot think of a single reason for it. Soon you will discover that even forced laughter will stimulate the real thing, and your laughter will become quite genuine and spontaneous. Some people find that a good way to release their laughter is to lie on their backs and raise their knees toward their chest, even kicking their legs and playing with their feet like babies do. If it helps, do it, and continue for between 5 and 10 minutes.
