As an experiment, notice how you feel right now on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst ever and 10 being absolutely fabulous. What's your number? Now think of everything that is wrong with you and your life and how awful you feel. Now what's your number? Chances are it went down. Now think of all that you have to be grateful for in your life, all the blessings you've received and continue to receive. Really take time to count them. Now what's your number. It went up, right?
Gratitude is an amazing energy booster because it focuses our attention on all that is good and right with us and our world, and we become filled with joy, hope, and optimism, which are powerful mental and spiritual energetic states.
There are many ways to practice -- keeping a gratitude journal, contemplating blessings before bed, saying thanks before eating. Whatever works for you is just fine. And during the day, when you start to flag, taking a moment to notice the good in your life will perk you right up.— Susannah Seton, Sondra Kornblat in 365 Energy Boosters
